Anvil started in 1999 out of the ashes of the now defunct Crime Club Records. Its aim as a small independent is to discover extremely talented debut artists and bring those to the attention of serious music fans and music industry alike.

Born of Italian and Welsh descent, Phil Passera considers himself something of a renaissance man in these intellectually troubled times of Chav'dom and Pomposity. Having been schooled in the renowned institutions of South Harrow and Hatch End, before abandoning all educational pursuits to start his first band 'Meat'. Since releasing records in the late 90's as one half of duo 'Kitty Bronx' Phil started Anvil as a creative outlet since retiring from abstract impressionist painting. Phil has recently given up smoking as he wishes to live long enough to truly understand the great works of O'Donnell. |

I was born late in the evening of August the 6th 1975, in a sparsely equipped ward of the Buchannan Maternity hospital, Hastings. I was nearly born in the sea as my mother was enjoying an evening swim in the English Channel as her contractions began. |
